The Masorti prayer book, Siddur Va'ani Tefillati,
is a joint venture of the Rabbinical Assembly in Israel and the Masorti Movement.
Rabbis Michael Graetz and Simcha Roth were responsible for the editing and typesetting;
they devoted vast thought and many long hours to see the siddur completed.
Va'ani Tefillati was edited for Israelis living in Israel. The siddur
is pluralistic in approach, reflecting a variety of acceptable religious views.
The siddur also takes an egalitarian approach in its attitude to the status
of women in ritual Jewish life.
Va'ani Tefillati is replete with such innovations as Passages for Study,
meditations upon entering the synagogue, a prayer for "difficult times" in Eretz
Yisrael, and the addition to the Amidah prayer for Yom Hashoah (Holocaust
Day).
