The Bureau runs Keren Habrit (The Circumcision Fund), which provides an opportunity for men and boys needing a Brit Milah to undergo this important Jewish ritual. Some of the requests for assistance are for children adopted abroad, some for adults and children undergoing non-Orthodox conversion (both Conservative and Reform), and others for people from the Former Soviet Union and Latin America, who lack the documentation required by the State (Orthodox) rabbinate, but who have satisfied the requirements of the Masorti Bet Din.

In general, the State finances Brit Milah through the Ministry of Religious Affairs; in certain cases, though, the Ministry either refuses outright to perform the Brit or drags its feet in giving the necessary authorization. At this point, Keren Habrit steps in to fund and perform Brit Milah for those deemed as needing it in accordance with Halacha.

To date, Keren Habrit has subsidized over 125 Britot for people unable to afford the prohibitive costs of a private Brit. The Britot are performed in an operating room with a full medical staff and a Masorti Mohel. There are currently some 60 children and 10 adults on the waiting list.
