Masorti Programs: MAROM
MAROM is the Masorti movement’s organization for college-age students and young adults. Through its programming, MAROM opens the pluralistic, Zionist, welcoming and inclusive outlook and values of the Masorti movement to this constituency, reaching across the religious-secular divide and drawing in new immigrants.
MAROM provides a platform for a wide cross-section of Israelis with an open, traditional outlook to share experiences, network and develop their sense of belonging to the Jewish people. It also creates a framework for members to lobby for change in the religious structure of Israeli society that favors Orthodoxy to the exclusion of other streams. Participation in MAROM, in the spirit of traditional Judaism, Zionism and democracy on campuses, in Masorti kehillot and in other locations around the country, also serves as a foundation for future leaders, both within Masorti and in Israeli society.

MAROM is actively involved in the absorption of immigrants who are students, holding joint activities with organizations of student olim. MAROM provides a natural home for immigrants from North and Latin America, who are already well acquainted with Conservative Judaism.
MAROM complements Masorti in Israel by providing a bridge for young people, graduates of NOAM and other youth organizations who are not yet ready to join a kehilla. In effect, MAROM is the young community of the movement, from which springs its future leaders, including many who choose to pursue rabbinic ordination, eventually serving in Masorti pulpits and other key positions of spiritual leadership.
